GSP1620 OEM Data Modem -  The GSP1620 OEM Satellite Data Modem is designed to be integrated with other equipment working in remote areas.  The Data Modem accesses the Globalstar Network of satellites and can be used in either asynchronous or packet mode.

The modem is ideal for remote difficult-to-access sites, and mobile applications where acquiring and responding to process control, tracking control and alarm data can be challenging and costly.

The packet mode is ideal for use in low cost bursty data traffic scenarios.  The packet mode also has the additional benefit of supporting split transmissions allowing the end-to-end link to operate whenever there is signal present, and recover gracefully when signal becomes available again.

In addition to providing two way communications at 9.6 kbps (up to 38.4kbps using accelerator client) with land, marine, or aviation based equipment, the GSP1620 satellite data modem, can cost-effectively retrieve data automatically from isolated power substations, or remote metering facilities such as oil and gas supply stations where unmanned sensors connected to a satellite data modem can monitor remote operations and initiate alert notifications.

The unit is provided as an antenna and modem board combination, with the modem board easily mounted within the housing of the integrators equipment.
