How The Thuraya Trade-in Program Works

  1. Review the Inmarsat and Iridium options and identify the replacement handset and service that suits your circumstances.
  2. Choose the date range that matches the Purchase date of your phone. If you do not have Proof of Purchase, choose 'before 15/04/2022'.
  3. You’ll be directed to the Pivotel online store with the handset and service plan preselected. You’ll need to click “Select Plan” then “Add to Cart”.
  4. Click on the Cart Icon to proceed to Checkout.
  5. At the first page of the checkout (Shipping page), you must add an email address and tick the box marked 'Remember me and create an Account'. You will be prompted to provide a password. This is required to create a Pivotel web store account that can be linked to your Pivotel Billing Account on the following page to complete the offer and retain your mobile number(s).
  6. On the same page (Shipping page), in the field marked “Thuraya Device IMEI(s)”, enter the 15-digit IMEI Number for each Thuraya handset you are trading in. The IMEI can be located on a label underneath the battery of the Thuraya phone. The IMEI should be entered without any space or dash(-). If you are ordering and trading in more than one handset, list each IMEI in the field, separated by a comma.
  7. Complete your details and move forward to the “Service Detail” page.
  8. On the Service Details page, you must tick the box 'Do you already have a Pivotel billing account? Link with your Pivotel billing account below'. You will now be prompted to enter your Pivotel Billing Account Number and Password.
  9. Complete the rest of the online purchase process and payment.
  10. You’ll receive an email confirming your order. In that email click the link for Thuraya Trade-in customers to access instructions on returning your Thuraya handset. Complete the web form as directed on that page. You will receive an email with a document that includes your trade in details and a checklist for returning your Thuraya handset to Pivotel. 
  11. Print a copy of the email AND your Pivotel 'Order Confirmation' email and include both documents when you post your Thuraya trade-in equipment to Pivotel.
  12. Next, package up your Thuraya return handset along with print outs of the two emails and a copy of your Proof of Purchase (if applicable) and follow the checklist instructions to return your handset to Pivotel.
  13. Please note, before you ship your return equipment, ensure you remove and discard of your existing Pivotel SIM card, a new Pivotel SIM card will be provided with your replacement hardware.

    Please allow up to 10 business days for your trade-in application to be verified and your replacement hardware dispatched. You must activate your service within 14 days of receiving your replacement hardware, as per the terms and conditions of the Thuraya Trade-in Program.
